چکیده

Two field experiments were carried out on a private farm at Wadi El-Natrun (latitude of 30.48° N and longitude 30.50° E), Beheira Governorate, Egypt, in the 2019–2020 2020–2021 seasons, to find effect adding zeolite as soil conditioner potassium fertilizer growth, yield, quality sugar beet crop (Beta vulgaris L. var. saccharifera) grown sandy conditions. The present work included 12 treatments, which combinations four levels (Zero, 476, 952, 1,428 kg ha-1), three form sulfate (119, 178.5, 238 K2SO4 added application. treatments arranged complete block design split plot with replications. results showed that higher values photosynthetic pigments, root diameter, fresh foliage weights plant-1, well as, sucrose extracted percentages, index, yields root, top, ha-1, obtained by zeolite, compared other both seasons. However, sodium, alpha-amino contents lost molasses% insignificantly affected rates Application ha-1 significantly resulted highest dimensions, sucrose%, content. In addition, %, increased lower K-sulphate On contrary, was applied maximum weight, top also yield second season produced from interaction between applying ha1.

Sugar beet response to N fertilization as assessed by late season chlorophyll and leaf area index measurements in a semi-arid environment

In a 3-year experiment (2002-2004), five N rates (0, 60, 120, 180, 240 kg N ha-1) were applied to sugar beets arranged in a Randomized Complete Block design with six replications. Experimentation took place under the semi-arid, irrigated conditions of central Greece. The aim of this work was to study the late season response of sugar beet crop to N fertilization as assessed by non-destructive m...

Growth characteristics and response of wheat to cadmium, nickel and magnesium sorption affected by zeolite in soil polluted with armaments

The presence of large heavy metal concentrations in soil polluted with chemical weapons causes serious operational restrictions against cultivation of agricultural crops like wheat. To solve this problem, the usage of zeolite has been proposed as one of the most efficient practical approaches. The main objective of this research is the investigation of the influence of natural Iranian zeolite o...

Rice Response to the Time and Rate of Potassium Fertilization

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) requires adequate potassium (K) nutrition for optimal growth, grain yield, and disease resistance. Studies were conducted in 2001 and 2002 at the Pine Tree Branch Experiment Station (PTBS) to characterize K uptake by rice and investigate the effect of both K-fertilizer application rate and time on rice growth, K uptake, and grain yield. Potassium fertilizer was applied at...

Innovative Approaches to Evaluate Sugar Beet Responses to Changes in Sulfate Availability

In this study, a system based on omics profiling was set-up for sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. subsp. vulgaris) evaluation after changes in sulfate availability. Seedlings were grown on sulfate-deprived Hoagland solution. Six days after germination, 100 μM MgSO4 was added to the solution. Root samples were collected 36 h after treatments. WinRHIZO root-scanning approach was used for the automated...
